Description
The blue wildebeest is an impressive antelope species that is native to southern Africa. These animals are extremely sociable and form large herds that move in loose groups through savannas and grasslands. The species is characterized by pronounced sexual dimorphism: males are usually larger and darker in color than females.
As pure herbivores, blue wildebeest feed mainly on short grasses that are abundant in their preferred environment.
