The story of SWISSskulls

We specialise in the sale of skulls and bones and are passionate about helping you with your education or professional development. Whether you are studying anatomy or veterinary medicine, training as a student or zookeeper, or training to be a hunter, we offer a wide range of skulls, skeletons and accessories that will be useful in your education or as decorative elements in your interior design.

But how did it all begin? My passion for skulls and bones began in my childhood. As a young boy, I always had a special eye for nature, animals and especially bones, which fascinated me. During school holidays, I would roam through the woods with my childminder and collect bones. My big dream was to one day find a magnificent deer antler.

During my school years we moved near a school where our neighbor was a hunter. One day he gave me two hunting trophies, which only increased my enthusiasm for antlers and skulls. I started making phone calls all over Switzerland, visiting deer breeders and hunters, and traveling across the country by train. When I finally had the idea of ​​preparing my own skull, I got hold of a fallow deer spear and started boiling it. It was hard to work on this strong-smelling piece of bone, but the effort was worth it - the skull looked great.

Over time, my interest in preparing other animals grew. When the skulls piled up at home and I lost interest in the individual pieces, I started selling them. At first, I used my father's Ricardo account because I was still a minor. At 16, I then created my own online shop. When I turned 18 and had saved some money from my carpentry apprenticeship, I could afford a better and more complex shop. The name changed from "Tierschaedel" to "SWISSskulls" and I registered a sole proprietorship. The online shop generated increasingly higher revenues, allowing me to expand the business further.

After my training, I specialized even more in bone preparation and also started selling other decorative items in addition to real skulls. In order to be financially secure, I founded Skullstore GmbH in 2023, as more and more purchases and items were needed in stock. Since December 2023, SWISSskulls has been part of Skullstore GmbH and offers everything related to skulls, bones and associated decorative items.
