When developing this lifelike reproduction of a human skull, a real human skull was digitized using state-of-the-art technology and then idealized from the perspective of medical education. This means that the skull has been perfectly adapted to the anatomical ideal; all anatomical details and structures are present and correspond to textbook examples. The 3-part model consists of the skull base, skullcap, and mandible. The teeth correspond to a real dentition in terms of tooth position and interdental spaces. The mandible is movably mounted and detachable. The skullcap is aligned with the skull base by unbreakable metal pins and is held by strong magnets, so that no more bothersome hooks are necessary, no pins can break off, and no gap is created between the skull base and the skullcap. This significantly distinguishes the model from competitor models with plastic pins or bothersome metal hooks. The skull corresponds in size and proportions to an average European adult.
