This skull is a perfect example of an adolescent. With the exception of the wisdom teeth, all permanent teeth have erupted; no primary teeth are present. X-rays of the original skull showed that the root apices of the incisors, canines, and premolars are about half to two-thirds closed, which corresponds to an age of 13.5 to 14 years. The crowns of the three wisdom teeth are in an early stage of calcification; X-rays show no root formation. The early stage of crown formation of wisdom teeth is usually complete by age 13.
