Canadian Wolf Skull
Description
The gray wolf, often simply called the wolf, belongs to the Canidae family and is widespread in Eurasia and North America. With an estimated population of around 300,000 animals worldwide, it is one of the most well-known wild animals. As a carnivore, the wolf hunts its prey independently, occasionally steals the prey of other predators or feeds on carrion. Its exceptional sense of smell helps it to track down prey effectively.
Gray wolves are highly social animals that live in packs. Typically, these packs consist of 5 to 9 members who work closely together and have a clear hierarchy.
