Description
Maceration in Enzyme II Bath – Standard Recipe:
Coverage: 250 ml Enzyme II is sufficient for 2-3 applications.
Preparation:
- 20 g enzyme II per liter of tap water (55 °C)
- 10 g/l salt
- 5–7 g/l degreasing (washing and degreasing agent)
- Optional: 0.5–1 g/l Peramit LPW (softening agent)
- Optional: 0.1 g/l Mortanol 30 (bactericide)
⚠️ Important: Do not use demineralized water!
Adjust pH value:
The bath must be adjusted to a pH value of 7.5 to 9 with sodium carbonate (soda) (indicator sticks recommended, pH range 6–10).
Temperature:
The bath should be kept at a constant 55 °C. The ideal solution is to use a maceration system, a warming cabinet or, alternatively, an oven or an immersion heater with heat control.
Application time:
Depending on the material, leave in the bath for 12 to 48 hours. Then remove the bones, rinse thoroughly, degrease and bleach with hydrogen peroxide.
Reuse:
The maceration bath can be used multiple times.
