Maceration in Enzyme II bath – Standard recipe:

Yield: 250 ml Enzyme II is sufficient for 2–3 applications.
Preparation:

• 20 g Enzyme II per litre of tap water (55 °C)
• 10 g/l salt
• 5–7 g/l Degreasing (washing and degreasing agent)
• Optional: 0.5–1 g/l Peramit LPW (softening agent) (only upon request)
• Optional: 0.1 g/l Mortanol 30 (bactericide) (only upon request)

⚠️ Important: Do not use demineralised water!

Adjusting the pH value:
The bath must be adjusted to a pH value of 7.5 to 9 with sodium carbonate (soda) (indicator strips recommended, pH range 6–10).

Temperature:
The bath should be kept at a constant 55 °C. Ideally, a maceration system, a drying oven, or alternatively a conventional oven or an immersion heater with temperature control should be used.

Application time:
Leave in the bath for 12 to 48 hours, depending on the material. Afterwards, remove bones, rinse thoroughly, degrease, and bleach with hydrogen peroxide.

Reuse:
The maceration bath can be used multiple times.
