Is the sale of protected animals legal?
Item Description
The black wolf is not a separate species, but a color variant of the gray wolf. The black fur color is the result of a genetic mutation that probably originated through crossbreeding with domestic dogs. Black wolves are particularly common in North America, especially in forested regions such as the Rocky Mountains and Canada.
Despite their dark coloring, they behave like other gray wolves—living in packs, hunting cooperatively, and exhibiting pronounced social behavior. Their coloring provides better camouflage in dense forest and may offer evolutionary advantages.
