Item Description

The black wolf is not a separate species, but a color variant of the gray wolf. The black coat color is caused by a genetic mutation, which is believed to have originally arisen through crossbreeding with domestic dogs. Black wolves are particularly common in North America, especially in forested regions such as the Rocky Mountains or Canada.

Despite their dark color, they behave like other gray wolves – living in packs, hunting cooperatively, and exhibiting strong social behavior. Their coloration provides better camouflage in dense forests and could offer evolutionary advantages.
