Item Description

The American black bear (Ursus americanus) is the most widespread bear species in North America and primarily lives in forests and mountainous regions. Despite its name, its fur can also be brown or cinnamon-colored.

Black bears are mostly solitary and excellent climbers. Their diet mainly consists of plant-based foods such as berries, nuts, and fruits, supplemented by insects or fish.

In autumn, they build up a layer of fat and hibernate in cold regions. They are usually shy towards humans but should always be respected from a distance.
