Description
The weasel, also known as the ermine, is an animal found in the wild in Switzerland. It belongs to the marten family and is known for its speed, agility and hunting skills. Weasels are carnivores and mainly nocturnal. They are specialised predators that hunt mainly small, warm-blooded vertebrates, especially mammals. In Europe, including Switzerland, the weasel is widespread. It inhabits various habitats such as forests, meadows, hedgerows and stony areas. The weasel is a relatively small animal with an average skull length of about 4.2 cm.
