Real Warthog Skull
Item Description
The warthog is easily recognizable by its characteristic facial ridges – the “warts” – and its upward-curving tusks. These serve both for defense and for communication within the species. With its robust build, bristly coat, and characteristically raised tail when running, it is one of the most distinctive savanna animals of Africa.
It inhabits open savannas, scrubland, and dry grasslands, often using abandoned burrows of other animals as shelter. Warthogs are diurnal, very alert, and surprisingly fast runners. Their diet consists of grasses, roots, tubers, fruits, and occasionally small vertebrates. Despite their somewhat rugged appearance, they exhibit complex social behavior, particularly between mothers and their young.
