The Valais Blackneck goat is an old, robust goat breed from the canton of Valais. Typical features are its striking two-tone coloring, deep black at the front and snow white at the back, as well as its long, curved horns. It is perfectly adapted to the harsh alpine climate and is traditionally used for milk and meat production as well as for landscape maintenance.

Today, it is considered a symbol of the cultural heritage of the Swiss mountain regions and is preserved and promoted through various breeding programs.
