real tiger shark jaw
Description
The tiger shark ( Galeocerdo cuvier ) is one of the largest sharks and reaches a length of 3 to 4.3 meters and a weight of 390 to 630 kilograms. Native to tropical and temperate seas, it prefers to hunt alone at night.
Its prey ranges from fish and turtles to birds and seals. The tiger shark is known for its aggressiveness and is the second shark species with the most human fatalities after the great white shark.
It owes its name to the dark stripes on its body, which fade with age – an unmistakable feature of this impressive predatory fish.
