Description
The roebuck is the male of the deer and is characterized by small, slender antlers that are shed and re-formed every year. Roebucks prefer to live in forests, but also in open landscapes with sufficient cover. They are solitary or live in small groups and feed mainly on grasses, herbs and shoots. They are particularly active at dusk. The antlers are used primarily to mark territory and for defense during the mating season.
