Real shell yellow-bellied slider turtle

The yellow-bellied slider (Trachemys scripta scripta) is a popular species of turtle native to North America. Its distinctive appearance is accentuated by bright yellow markings on the sides of its head. These turtles are active in both water and on land and prefer warm, sunny habitats such as swamps and ponds. They are known for their adaptability and long lifespan in captivity.
