The Hercules beetle (Dynastes hercules) is an impressive species of beetle from the family Scarabaeidae. Males are particularly striking due to the horn-like appendage on their heads, which gives them their name. This beetle species is native to tropical regions of the Americas, particularly Central and South America. Hercules beetles are known for their strength and ability to move large loads. They play an important role in the ecosystem by decomposing organic material and thus supporting the nutrient cycle.
