Real Human Pirate Skull

Fully restored real human skull in good condition, but without teeth.
What is special about this skull is that it shows traces of sword or sabre blows. Amazingly, however, the cuts and damage have grown together and healed, so that the person was able to survive.

The human skull (cranium) consists of about 22 to 30 individual bones, most of which are held together by ossified seams, so-called sutures. The skull is divided into two main areas: the braincase (neurocranium) and the facial skull (viscerocranium). Its most important function is to protect what is probably the most important organ in the human body - the brain.

Human skulls and bones are provided to us by retired doctors, medical researchers, dentists and former university physicians.
