Real Guinea Pig Skull
Item Description
The real guinea pig skull comes from the domesticated guinea pig (Cavia porcellus), a small rodent from South America. Guinea pigs were originally domesticated over 3000 years ago in the Andean regions of Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. Today, they are among the most popular pets worldwide.
Typical for the guinea pig are its strong incisors and the laterally arranged molars, which are perfectly adapted to shredding plants. As with all rodents, the incisors grow throughout their lives and must be worn down by constant gnawing.
