Item Description

The European mole belongs to the order of insectivores and is perfectly adapted to an underground life. With its strong forelimbs, it digs extensive tunnel systems in which it hunts for worms, insect larvae, and other soil animals.

The mole's skull is elongated and narrow, with a pointed snout that helps it navigate in narrow passages. Its teeth are typical of insectivores: many small, sharp teeth that are perfectly suited for grasping and crushing its prey. The eyes are very small, as the animals primarily orient themselves using their sense of touch and smell.

Despite their small size, moles play an important role in the ecosystem by aerating the soil and regulating pests.
