The term cashmere goat does not refer to a specific breed, but rather a phenotype of the domestic goat with about 20 different subtypes, all of which have long, fine underwool. The cashmere goat is bred in the Himalayas and the Pamir Mountains. It has unusually fine wool. The billy goat died a natural death and comes from a Swiss farm.
