Real Impala Skull
Item Description
The impala (Aepyceros melampus) is a graceful and fast antelope species that lives in the open savannas and woodlands of Africa. Male impalas bear curved horns that can grow up to 90 cm long. These horns vary in color, from dark to blonde or lighter shades, depending on the individual. Female impalas do not have horns.
An impala's skull is lightly built to support speed and agility, and it possesses prominent eye sockets for good vision. The males' horns are hollow and consist of keratin, similar to human hair or nails. They are often used for fights over territory and females, making them an important part of male dominance in the herd.
