The term cashmere goat does not refer to a specific breed, but rather a phenotype of the domestic goat with about 20 different subtypes, all of which have a long, fine undercoat. The cashmere goat is bred in the Himalayas and the Pamir Mountains. It has unusually fine wool. The goat died of natural causes and comes from a Swiss farm.
