Real Giraffe Skull
Description
The giraffe is the largest living land animal on earth, reaching impressive heights of up to 5.79 metres. As a symbol of the African savannah, it has adapted perfectly to life with its long neck and remarkable tongue. The giraffe feeds mainly on leaves that are inaccessible to other herbivores, and uses its dexterous tongue, up to 50 cm long, to carefully pull the leaves out from between the sharp thorns of trees.
Another fascinating feature of the giraffe is its ossicones – hump-like bony projections on the head covered with skin and hair, which grow steadily throughout their lives and are particularly strong in male animals.
