Item Description

The Northern Giraffe is one of the rarest large animal species in Africa. It primarily inhabits savannas, open woodlands, and dry bushlands north of the equator. Characteristic features include its long neck, reticulated or spotted coat pattern, and horn-like ossicones.

Due to habitat loss and poaching, several subspecies are considered critically endangered. However, conservation programs in countries like Niger, Chad, and Ethiopia have achieved initial successes in recent years.

This impressive bull skull stands out with its massive bone structure and a distinctly abnormally developed ossicone. It is excellently suited for study purposes or as a teaching model; all teeth are fully present.
