Real bison skull

Bison are impressive, massive even-toed ungulates. There are two main species: the American bison, which once dominated the prairies of North America, and the European bison, the Wisent, which is found mainly in the forests of Europe.

Bison are known for their powerful build, distinctive shoulder hump and thick coat that adapts them to harsh climate conditions. They are herbivores and play an important role in their ecosystem by shaping landscapes and promoting biodiversity.

Thanks to successful conservation programs, both species were saved from extinction and are now a symbol of nature conservation and ecological restoration.
