Eurypelma spinicrus is a tarantula from the family Theraphosidae and is originally from South America. The species is characterized by its robust build and pronounced hairiness, which can range from brownish to dark in color depending on its region of origin. Like many tarantulas in this group, it is primarily terrestrial and burrows or uses existing caves as shelter.
This species is considered calm but defensive when threatened. Its defense consists mainly of flicking urticating hairs and making short warning movements. In the wild , Eurypelma spinicrus feeds primarily on insects and other small invertebrates.
