Description
Male and female Nyala antelopes can be distinguished primarily by their fur color: the females are reddish brown and have around 18 clearly visible white horizontal stripes, which serve as camouflage in the bush, as they blur the outline of the body. The much larger males are grey-brown in color, the stripes are less visible and the fur on the neck, thighs, belly and back is extended like a mane.
