Description
With the first days of spring, the common buzzard circles over its territory, letting out its familiar mewing calls. With impressive aerial displays, the male courts a mate. Crows suspiciously pursue the common buzzard, persistently trying to drive it from their territories. In winter, our breeding birds are joined by northeastern winter visitors. During severe cold spells, spectacular escape movements to the southwest often occur.
