Real tusker boar trophy
Item Description
What makes a truly strong boar? Age, impressive tusks, or size and weight? The latter is certainly the most impressive, but the passionate wild boar hunter dreams of a boar that combines all three characteristics.
In local hunting grounds, 100 kilograms field-dressed is considered the benchmark for a large sow; stronger animals weighing 140 to 160 kilograms are rare but do occur. Abroad, trophy size is often used for the shooting fee, while the actual weight is only determined later. Statements like "200-kilo boar" are usually based on estimates and often only correspond to 150 kilograms field-dressed.
Particularly strong boars are often shot in inaccessible terrain, which makes recovery difficult. These specimens remain as impressive memories or estimates – and grow larger and larger in stories over time. The largest boars are often those that were missed anyway.
