Description
Fallow deer, originally native to Europe and now introduced to many parts of the world, are known for their distinctive shovel-shaped antlers and spotted coat. These medium-sized deer prefer forests and open fields, where they feed on grasses, leaves and acorns.
Fallow deer are social animals that live in herds and are often seen during the day, especially in parks and nature reserves where they are protected. They are also hunted in northern and central Europe. Their meat is considered a delicacy and is one of the most popular types of deer meat.
