Item Description

Springboks resemble Thomson's gazelles. Like them, they have a dark, reddish-brown stripe that separates the yellowish-brown upper side from the white underside. A thin stripe extends from the eyes to the upper corner of the mouth on the white head. The elongated dorsal hairs can only be seen when the animal "pronks," which means leaping upwards with stiff legs and an arched back – their namesake behavior. Both sexes have ringed, lyre-shaped horns; however, those of the females are more slender.
